Well I was totally blown away this week when I realized that Grant turned six months old on June 24. Sitting in the NICU six months ago I could not even imagine this day-I could not fathom that the tiny two pounder in the isolette who could not even breathe on his own would one day be a chubby, happy six month old. It really seemed at the time that he was going to be tiny and sick forever- I didn't even dare to dream of how he might be. I am so happy with how far he has come, and I know every month and milestone that he hits I am going to be more and more amazed. Even now it is still hard to imagine him in the future- part of me wants him to hurry and grow up so I can know that he is going to be ok, but at the same time I don't want to miss how absolutely adorable he is right now. We are so proud of our little guy.
I really wish I took more pictures of him in the NICU, especially pictures that give a perspective of how small he really was because I am already forgetting. I was looking through his things and found one of his first diapers- comparing it with his current size 2 it really hit home how far he has come. The picture doesn't do justice to how small it really is-it looks like a Barbie diaper.
