This week Cole went to his first spring training game and saw the Diamondbacks-'DB'backs as Cole calls them- play the A's. I thought Cole would last like twenty minutes and then get bored, but boy was I wrong. He loved it and lasted the whole game. We did not anticipate how crazy it would be and ended up parking at the zoo, but it wasn't too bad of a walk and we couldn't have asked for more perfect weather. Our seats were in the furthest section, but they were in the first row so we could still see pretty well. Never once did Cole get bored; in addition to watching the game, he loved looking up the players in the program, eating and spilling his slushy all over his pants, and hanging out with the "big kids" that sat by us. Cole even got his first autograph; it was funny because after we got the autograph we had to look up the player's number in the program to see who it was-you can tell we don't really follow baseball. Toward the end of the game we moved to empty seats behind home plate and Cole was entranced. I was amazed at how much he loved it and we are already planning to buy early tickets next spring so we can get perfect seats up close.
A very captive audience
